About Me

Hi, I’m Karen and I am really glad you took the time to stop by.

I know that beginning the process of therapy can be an intimidating task. My desire is for you to feel comfortable and safe throughout the entire process.

My hope for you and all my clients is that you feel heard, understood and respected. It is my belief that every person deserves and desires these things.  My approach to therapy is relational, interactive and empathetic.  I am willing to work as hard as you are to bring about the desired changes you seek in your life and in your relationships with self and others.

I have a bachelors degree in Psychology as well as a Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Chapman University and have over 15 years of experience working with teens as well as adults.

My goal is to offer an atmosphere that is open, non judgmental  and honest. My therapeutic approach uses a variety of techniques and modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness  based CBT, Solution Focused Therapy, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and art as a creative process for self care and self expression.

If you are beginning to consider if therapy might be helpful, congratulate yourself. The first step in moving toward health, healing and wholeness is a wonderful, scary and exciting process.

“The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new.”  ~ Socrates ~
